§ 12-33. Same—Functions.

  • The function of the cemetery division shall include the following:

    (1)

    Maintain cemetery. To provide for the operation and maintenance of all the town's cemetery, including burials, the maintenance of lots, avenues and plans.

    (2)

    Maintain records. To maintain a complete and accurate record of all town cemetery property, the lots of which have been laid off, undeveloped lots, burial records, the ownership of lots, and the payment of all perpetual care funds for the lots. However, duplicate records for reference may be maintained as deemed necessary and desirable in the town treasurer's office.

    (3)

    Assigned lots. Perform the assignment of private lots within all the town cemetery according to the schedule of fees established by the town council.

    (4)

    Deposit of funds. To deposit with the town treasurer all fees and payments received.

    (5)

    Prepare records. To prepare such records and reports of the care and operation of the town cemetery as may be required by the town manager.
